Chapter 123: “Plot of the Beetle”

With wheat in each claw,

Cancer followed the beetle

creeping on Argo.

That stowaway critter feared

the fury of the lions.

On the lowest deck,

a dozen full amphora

sat unattended.

It was the beetle's dark plan

to poison Argo's water.

Climbing up one jar,

the beetle coated his teeth

with potent poison.

Before enacting his plan,

Cancer hurled bread crumbs at him!
