over shattered glass inside
the merchant’s vineyard.

Andromeda said, “Hello?
Does anyone still live here?”

The merchant answered,
his voice calling from below,
“Please help! I’m downstairs.”

When the princess found the man,
he was tired up in a chair.

“What happened?” she asked
as she set the merchant free,
“Those thieves,” he told her,

"tore the walls down for some gold,
and promised to return here!”
